Pyrus Communis Kieffer Pear

Pyrus Communis Kieffer Pear thrives in moist, fertile, deep, well-drained soils and full sun. Kieffer Pear produces aromatic, creamy white flowers in mid-spring. The blossoms give way to huge, crisp, gritty in texture, oval-shaped, greenish-yellow pears with a red blush and fair flavor. Kieffer Pear has elliptic, shiny green leaves that turn to shades of red and yellow during fall. The self-fertile shrub requires pollination by a tree of another variety with the same bloom period, like Barlett or Anjou. Kieffer Pear can grow up to 12-15 feet tall and is best suited for wall-side borders.
