Alnus Rhombifolia White Alder is a perfect choice for specimen plantings. White Alder is a deciduous, mid-sized tree with initial pyramidal growth and an oval form when mature. In spring, greenish-yellow catkins appear. The apple-green, broadly ovate, serrated leaves turn dark green and glossy as they mature. This shade tree is also used for wildfire rehabilitation, riparian restoration, and bank stabilization. White Alder grows best in evenly fertile, moist, well-drained soils under full sun to part shade.
