Berberis Verruculosa Warted Barberry is a deciduous shrub with a dense and rounded growth habit. The shrub thrives in full sun to part shade and is tolerant to soils that are not wet or soggy. Warted Barberry has shiny, oval leaves with dark green uppersides and silvery-white undersides. The leaves change to burgundy and mahogany during winter. The shrub's stems are clothed in bright golden-yellow, solitary blossoms from late spring to early June. The flowers give way to blue-black berries that are attractive to birds.
