Dryopteris Cycadina 'Shaggy Shield' Fern is a semi-evergreen perennial that requires part shade to full shade and prefers loamy, organic and consistent moisture in well-drained soils. Its stiff, leathery, upright, dark green blades (fronds) appear in an upwards arching arrangement from the center of the plant. 'Shaggy Shield' Fern is non-flowering and spreads by short, creeping rhizomes. Suitable for shady borders, as a specimen near water, and woodland gardens.
